On the 15th May TBB hosted Connect for a Cause – a corporate networking function for the Womens Health and Family Services.
TBB is a proud supporter of the WHFS, and the incredible service they provide to families in need across the state. The aim of Connect for a Cause was to help the WHFS to establish a stronger connection with the corporate sector, to provide business with an appreciation of the valuable contribution this not-for-profit service makes for families across the full spectrum of our society.
The event was incredibly well attended by a broad cross-section of the corporate sector. Speakers included the Hon. Brendan Grylls, a long time supporter, Ann Deanus, CEO of WHFS and Sam, a client of the WHFS who told her compelling story of her life changing experience with the Service.
Lex Barnett, TBB’s Managing Director also spoke of the company’s supportive relationship with the WHFS. “TBB is a very proud supporter of the WHFS. They are a highly committed group with both passion and professionalism. They have established an incredibly effective framework that reaches those in need in even the remotest parts of the state, and across all of our many cultural groups. The success stories from clients such as Sam are testament to the meaningfulness of their work”.
While the evening was not specifically about fund raising, there was a raffle with some great prizes. The feature of the evening was the auction of a bottle of Penfolds Grange, donated and signed by the then Governor General Quentin Bryce. A substantial sum was bid and the successful bidder then generously handed the bottle back to be again auctioned at another time.
