On the 5th October 2021, the WA Government announced the commencement of works on the Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct (AARP).
The 51-hectare precinct, based in Neerabup north of Perth, is the first of its kind in Australia. It is positioned to be a world leading facility serving as a development and testing ground, providing opportunities for local industry and business sectors to test a range of technologies in a custom-built environment.
The first stage will deliver the initial test beds, access routes and site facilities. A second stage will feature a 1,200m2 common user test facility.
Taylor Burrell Barnett has been involved with the Meridian Park industrial estate and initially prepared the Neerabup Industrial Area agreed structure plan. In 2021, TBB was commissioned to assist DevelopmentWA to prepare development applications for the AARP as works commence.
DevelopmentWA is currently calling for businesses looking to be involved or have access to the test beds and future facilities. While land within the precinct is not for sale, it is adjacent to Meridian Park industrial estate where industrial and service lots are available. Future plans provide for road connectivity to the AARP, making Meridian Park an attractive location for businesses involved in automation and robotics.
