Ocean Reef Marina Update

It’s been 12 months since our last project update on the exciting Ocean Reef Marina project and what a busy 12 months it’s been. Works on the construction of the breakwaters and the site for the new Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club and Marine Rescue Whitfords facilities, have now been completed.
As the lead urban design and town planners for the project we’ve been focused on the planning for Stage One works, beginning in early 2024. These works are expected to take around 18 months. Once completed, the works will have delivered:
- ~68 single residential lots and three development lots;
- ~3.4ha of public and community accessible open space, including the waterfront promenade and the beach area;
- The Marine Enterprise Precinct including more trailer parking bays, newly oriented boat ramps and boat hardstand; and
- Balance of lots ready for future subdivision.
On the planning side, we’ve seen a number of milestones on the project including the approved Marine Enterprise Precinct Design Guidelines, Public Art Policy and Stage 1 Public Realm Policy, as well as the planning approvals for the relocation of the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club and Marine Rescue Whitfords facilities. We are currently working on the remainder of the Precinct design guidelines, policies and development applications which will support this innovative and world class waterfront that will be an exemplar project for Joondalup and WA.
