Samantha recognised with Women in Leadership Award

We’re incredibly proud to share that our Managing Director, Samantha Thompson, has been awarded the Women in Leadership Award by the Women in Planning Network WA at this year’s International Women’s Day Breakfast.
With over 30 years of experience in urban planning and an unwavering commitment to positive change, Samanatha has made an extraordinary contribution to the planning profession — and to Taylor Burrell Barnett. Since joining TBB in 1992 as a graduate planner, she has become a respected industry leader and, in 2023, made history as our first female Managing Director.
Samantha leads with empathy, care, and conviction. She’s known for her ability to bring people together, advocate for better planning outcomes, and empower those around her to grow and lead. Her approach to leadership is grounded in collaboration and authenticity — always looking for ways to share knowledge, support bold ideas, and create meaningful opportunities for others.

Samantha shared, “This award is a reflection of the incredible people I’ve had the privilege to work with — and I’m excited for what’s still to come.”
