We’re thrilled to share that our Managing Director, Samantha Thompson, has been recognised with the 2025 Industry Impact Award at the WA Property Awards.
Presented by the Property Council of Australia (WA), this award celebrates individuals who’ve made a real and lasting difference to the property industry — and Sam absolutely has. Across her 30+ year career, she’s played a leading role in shaping how planning and development unfolds in Western Australia.
Recognising impact that goes beyond the job title
This award isn’t about business success or project wins alone. It’s about sustained, long-term influence — something Sam has consistently demonstrated. Her impact stretches far beyond the walls of TBB. She’s helped guide some of WA’s most significant development projects, championed major policy reform, and helped shape a culture of leadership that lifts others.
Whether she’s leading the planning for Curtin Heritage Living’s award-winning redevelopment of the Wearne site in Cottesloe, or shaping the original Liveable Neighbourhoods policy, Sam brings a balance of strategic thinking, care and clarity to everything she does.
Leadership that extends across the industry
Sam’s work spans complex strategic planning, policy reform and project delivery. She brings deep expertise and a strong sense of purpose to every role — and she continues to be a trusted voice across the industry through committee roles, thought leadership and mentoring.
As TBB’s first female Managing Director, she has also been instrumental in creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Under her guidance, TBB has achieved 53% female representation, 50% women in leadership, and no gender pay gap — milestones we’re incredibly proud of.
Creating space for others to thrive
Those who know Sam know she’s not one for the spotlight. But she’s always the first to create space for others to shine. She’s a generous mentor, a thoughtful leader, and a strong advocate for collaboration and equity.
This is also her second award in 2025. Earlier this year, she was recognised with the Women in Leadership Award from the Women in Planning Network WA. While that honour celebrated her contributions to the planning profession, the Industry Impact Award highlights her broader legacy across planning, property, policy, and people.
A well-deserved recognition
We’re incredibly proud of Sam and everything she brings to our team and the wider industry. She leads with purpose, empowers others, and helps create better outcomes for people and communities. While she’d be the first to say it’s always a team effort, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the impact she continues to make.
Congratulations, Sam — we couldn’t think of a more deserving winner.
Real impact happens when we lead with purpose and bring others along for the journey
