After completing her initial studies and working in politics, Bec found where her true passions were and made the move, completing a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning with Distinction from UWA.
Bec joined Taylor Burrell Barnett in 2020 after gaining experience in State Government with DevelopmentWA. She is an active member of the PIA Young Planners committee and has continued involvement at UWA to support the geography and planning courses.
Bec proudly states she is a life-long North of the River Perthian. Noting that the North / South determination is “so Perth”. Outside of planning, and her time on various committees, Bec spends her time cheering on the West Coast Eagles and being a dedicated Dog Mum to her 2-year-old Border Collie Leo.
Bec has been enjoying her work with Rio Tinto as it provides a diverse range of tasks, supporting not only Rio Tinto’s mining operations but also their community involvement across the Pilbara. Bec has also delivered several community engagement programs, and various local government planning strategies.
2021 PIA WA Awards for Planning Excellence - Young Planner of the Year.
I love watching major WA projects, like the Optus Stadium, start their life as an idea and then become a place that will create memories for generations to come.
