Mark enjoys the end-to-end process of design implementation. From the initial idea, helping that idea to evolve in design, and ultimately be implemented.
Since joining Taylor Burrell Barnett in 1998, Mark has been providing his clients with designs that are viable and implementable, to shape places that people will enjoy now and into the future.
Mark obtained a diploma in Industrial Design before starting at TBB as a junior draftsperson. This role introduced Mark to planning and urban design which led him to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Design, Curtin University of Technology 2009. So, with 9 years in drafting, and now 13 years in planning when we say that our planners know great design, Mark is a perfect example of this.
Mark spent his early years in the hills of Perth before, finally settling closer to the beach. Which suits him perfectly since he is an avid surfer.
One of Mark’s first projects as a planner was Waterhall Estate in South Guildford. It’s a development that he’s still proud to have been involved in today. More recently he has been involved in two master planned developments, Atlantis Beach and Capricorn Beach Estates, that he has been proud to see evolve and mature.
Urban design is finding a balance across many disciplines in order to shape spaces and places for people to enjoy.
