The Goal

In collaboration with Whispering Smith Architects and Capa Architects, TBB achieved Development Approval to deliver inner urban terrace housing products, exceptionally designed to appeal to those with an eye for flexibility, design quality and sustainability.

Our Role

TBB were engaged as the lead planners responsible for the preparation and delivery of the development application, including the preparation of an acoustic assessment and waste management plan. TBB coordinated a multi-disciplinary team of consultants, including the landscape designer, traffic engineers and sustainable design consultants.

The Outcome

The project sets an outstanding sustainability target, aiming for a 96% reduction in the carbon life of the buildings, through a minimum 7.5 Star NatHERS rating, water efficiency, and design of shading and orientation to maximise daylight and minimise glare.

The proposed landscaping celebrates local and native species that are of significance to the local Beeloo Noongar people, and contributes to the restoration of lost species in the area for native birdlife.

The City of South Perth recommended approval and the JDAP granted development approval on 17th June 2022.

DAP Specialist Member John Syme referred to the project as a solution for the ‘missing middle’
