A framework for growth along Scarborough Beach Road – one of Perth’s key activity corridors.
The Goal
Scarborough Beach Road West runs between Hinderwell Street, Scarborough and Odin Road, Innaloo. The vision is for an Urban Corridor which is a modern, vibrant, residential and mixed-use place, shared by and supporting rapid public mass transit.
Our Role
Due to our comprehensive work on the Herdsman Glendalough revitalisation project, TBB was engaged by the City of Stirling to prepare a Local Development Plan for the 3km corridor. This included:
- An Engagement and Communication Strategy
- A Vision
- Implementation Strategy
- Design Guidelines and Local Development Plan
We worked collaboratively with a consultant team with specialties in Landscape Architecture and Traffic and Transport, and undertook and comprehensive stakeholder and community engagement process. We also advised on the Metropolitan Region Scheme Amendment and Local Planning Scheme Amendment.
The Outcome
TBB’s methodology and design expertise, combined with our strategic, statutory and implementation planning approach successfully delivered an outcome that ensured the community’s desires for a revitalised series of activity nodes and community spaces was achieved. This was achieved in harmony with the balanced expectations of State Government Transport Agencies and the City of Stirling.
