A new apartment development has been approved at 2 Zodiac Drive, Alkimos, for a multiple dwelling with 32 apartments. Paradise Point is a visionary project where modern living harmonises seamlessly with the Alkimos masterplan.

This week, the City of Wanneroo granted development approval for a new apartment development (32 apartments) overlooking Shorehaven Beach in Alkimos in Perth’s expanding northwest corridor. The project, named Paradise Point, was designed by architect FHSI Design Studio and is being developed by Seacrest Homes. It aims to be the first apartment building to be developed in the Shorehaven Estate, offering residents a coastal sanctuary for modern living across 3 storeys plus basement parking.

Leading the development approval process from Taylor Burrell Barnett was Principal Trent Will, who said, “Instead of using the Development Assessment Panel process, our clients opted for the City of Wanneroo to determine the application. This resulted in approval in less than three months—which we believe is much quicker than the time it would have taken for a DAP decision.”

As part of the recent planning reforms, it is no longer mandatory that projects, including those with high construction values, be considered by the DAP.

Shorehaven is a major master-planned residential estate that will ultimately provide 3000 dwellings along the Alkimos coastline. The estate development design aims to maximise the area's natural features while supporting the local environment and amenities.

FHSI Design Studio’s Managing Director Fariborz Hatam said, “Paradise Point is a visionary project where modern living harmonises seamlessly with the Alkimos masterplan. We have crafted every detail to enchant, from the captivating landscaped plaza leading to the beach to the thoughtfully designed apartments boasting ocean views. Communal spaces like the entry lobby and gardens further elevate the living experience, embodying adaptability, sustainability, and the essence of coastal living.”

Once completed, residents will have views of Shorehaven Beach, where the SS Alkimos shipwreck is located. The SS Alkmos was a Greek-owned merchant ship that was wrecked on the coast north of Perth, Western Australia, in 1963. Today, it is a popular diving spot, despite, or perhaps because of, its famous haunted status.
